Παναγία Παραμυθία- Panagia Paramythia (Comfort)

+Τον Ιανουάριο του 807 μ.Χ. Αλγερινοί πειρατές προσορμίσθηκαν στον μικρό λιμένα της Ιεράς μονής Βατοπεδίου για να επιτεθούν και να τη καταλάβουν. Τότε όμως φωνή ηκούσθη από την εικόνα της Θεοτόκου η οποία είπε στον ηγούμενο να μην ανοίξουν εκείνη την ημέρα τις πύλες της μονής, η οποία τελικώς εσώθη. Από τότε η εικόνα της Θεοτόκου ονομάζεται «Παραμυθία», δηλαδή παρηγορία.

+In January 807 AD Algerian pirates pounced upon the small port of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi by surprise. But the icon of the Virgin Mary spoke and said to the abbot not to open that day the gates of the monastery. Since then, the icon of the Virgin is being called «Paramythia», that means comfort.
